Friday again ..Melonpop Drive goes bush!

Looking back over the week...   A little story about "Trust"...

A little girl and her mother were crossing a bridge.
The mother was kind of scared so she asked her little daughter:
"Sweetheart, please hold my hand so that you don't fall into the river."
The little girl said:
"No, Mum. You hold my hand."
"What's the difference?" Asked the puzzled Mum.

"There's a big difference," replied the little girl.

"If I hold your hand and something happens to me,
chances are that I may let your hand go.
But if you hold my hand, I know for sure that no matter
what happens, you will never let my hand go."

In any relationship, the essence of trust is not in its bind,
but in its bond. So hold the hand of the person whom you
love rather than expecting them to hold yours...

What a strange old week this week has been.   Lots of weird stuff flying around in the ether.  Today is my last show here at 2bbb  until I return from Queensland from the protest site.  I shed a tear because I will miss doing this.   I have three days to go, then off to help Vee get organised and off we go!  I am going to tag along to help and support where possible.  Organizing a doof with Vee is going to be a huge experience I will love!  Meeting all the wonderful people who care like me will be great.  Lots of photos and interviews.

I feel sad about leaving and it isn't easy for me to go and perhaps this will be very good for me actually.  I will be amongst like minded people.  The most difficult part will be to trust that it will all still be here when I get back.  I am leaving my man and my dog and my cat to fight for our Earth so My Garden will be fine.  I hope.

We call upon the waters that rim the earth, horizon to horizon, that flow in our rivers and streams, that fall upon our gardens and fields, and we ask that they teach us and show us the way.

Water has a memory.  It remembers where it is going and where it has been.  If there is anything magical on this planet then it has to be the substance water.  It is what our bodies are largely composed of as well.

We become very sick if we become dehydrated.  We need water to survive.  The fishes and ocean dwellers need water as well.  We must look after the oceans and the rivers of our planet.  The life blood of her very existence is carried by the waters of the Earth.

When I was at Uluru, my lips felt swollen the entire time.  I thought this could be attributed to me being in a slightly dehydrated state as a norm.  I drank furiously while I was out there in Central Australia but to no avail at making my lips feel any better.  They felt quite fat.

As soon as I was back in Sydney the feeling disappeared.  I think I  made a correct diagnosis.  The heat out at the rock is probably responsible for this as it is a dry heat and it draws hard down on you.   They constantly warn you to drink masses of water while you are there.  I did my best.

And on this day many lessons were learned and bridges were burned to the ground

Metaphorically speaking because not much is actually burning around here.  At the moment  this Australia Day finds the place totally inundated and experiencing some fairly serious flooding.

It has been raining for over a week now and the area has a maximum capacity and at the moment we are actually teetering on a real disaster occurring if the rain continues.  The water table is at maximum because of continual steady rain now for a good while.  We wait to see how much the rain falls.

Tears from  heaven.... to take care of you.. for the ones who have loved and lost.

Relics are treasured as something close to the divine. - Sarah Vowell

Old Pylons by the twin rivers of the Kalang and Bellinger

Old things were once cared for and still are today in some quarters.  This is a practice that is dying out as it becomes evident that the new generations are not interested in looking after what has gone before them.  Today society is very much a throw away society and there is no value in looking after the past according to them.  Do they know this though?  When they are young do they really know this well enough to make this decision for humanity and should we let them do this?
